Commissioning

Ensuring that all systems and components of a building are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirement.

Commissioning is a systematic process to ensure all building systems perform as intended by the design plan and meet the owner’s operational needs. The foundation of our services revolves around the systematic process of documented verification that all building systems perform interactively; fulfill the functional and performance requirements of the contract documents; and meet the owner’s operational objectives and needs.

Because all building systems are integrated, a deficiency in one component can result in sub-optimal operation and performance among other components. The benefits that commissioning brings to a project include:

  • Reduced energy consumption
  • Reduced maintenance cost
  • Improved occupant comfort and productivity
  • Fewer design Errors & Omissions, resulting in fewer change orders
  • Less building start-up and comfort problems

Our teams are led by a Registered Professional Engineer and include other P.E.’s, Certified Building Commissioning Professionals, Certified Energy Managers and LEED™ Accredited Professionals.  A pool of highly qualified engineers and technicians contribute to specific commissioning activities.  K2M develops project specific reports as its deliverable to our client.

Our Clients Say…

"It is a pleasure to work with the K2M Team. The team held to their project timeline, met with the county Superintendents to complete a thorough overview of our structures and land, met with elected officials and department heads to consider our thoughts, concerns and ideas, and delivered options that we are very pleased with!"
